AMS Consultancy’s Social Media Studio is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our core team as a regular, remote freelancer.
AMS is a global team of communications specialists who work with nonprofits and purpose driven organisations. Our clients include education, technology and international development nonprofits, among others. We have many clients in the Middle East and require our social media managers to write and speak English and Arabic fluently. You can see some of our recent work in our portfolio and on our website. About the role
We have a fun and challenging opportunity for a social media manager who wishes to work remotely, on a freelance basis, and who has 3+ years of experience. You will be an enthusiast for current social media trends and have a good grounding in all key social media management skills including content creation (designs, videos, captions, etc), community management, ad buying, and analytics. You’ll lead us into all kinds of unusual and creative campaigns, and show tangible results for our clients.
Our clients have important messages and limited budgets. You will bring your experience, and an interest in AI, learning, and productivity, to deliver exceptional results within creative and time constraints. We will not overload you with accounts – you’ll handle only two clients to begin with, part-time. This can grow over time, if you want it to. You will have the chance to impress influential leaders in the communications and international development sectors, with your finger on the pulse, knowledge of your craft, and attention to detail.
You’ll receive support from the AMS team of experienced international and Middle East communications experts, and a full induction and training package.

Person specification / skills required
- Social media training and experience. A university degree is not required for candidates who have the right skill set. Regardless of your education, we need to see evidence of your work and its impact.
- Life-long learning: we want to see how you keep your skills up to date and learn from your experiences.
- Strong work ethic. We all work hard and we share credit for success where it is due.
- Teamwork: You support others and accept help when you need it. Excellent communicator internally as well as with clients.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic. Ability to speak and write accurately in Spanish or French would be an additional advantage (but is not required).
- Organisational skills: never misses a deadline; can respond to changing priorities; able to prioritise work effectively.
- Independent worker; able to manage own workload and work remotely.
- Willingness to use Trello for workflow management (no experience needed, training will be given). Expert user of Canva and video editing for social media.
- Skilled user of Google Docs, Drive, Sheets and Slides.
- Experience using AI tools is also an advantage.
- Cultural awareness; experience working within diverse teams.
- Driven by social impact.
Key terms and conditions
- Compensation: Based on a benchmarking exercise, we are expecting to pay around $1,600 per month for full time equivalent work. We are open to discussing your needs, however. Please state your expected salary range on the application form.
- Hours will vary depending on projects. You will have a say in your hours each month so you will be able to work around other priorities and take holidays to refresh yourself. We support the wellbeing of all team members.
- The working language is English for meetings and emails.
- You must sign up to the AMS Code of Conduct.
